Catalina

This picture was a commision some years ago, painted in watercolour and gouache. It took some time to assemble the information I needed to paint this. Eventually I chose to paint a particular Catalina that in fact was the first US seaplane in the European theatre of war to destroy a German submarine. The action took place near the straits of Gibraltar, and a Royal Navy K class destroyer was also involved.
I have a transparency of this painting, but as yet it has not been printed.
